Home About Us..... What is an Extra? Got what it takes? Finding an Agent

It's really important to get a good Agent who will get you work and look after you. There are some Agency's who have a policy of taking on lots of new people all the time. This means less work for each new person and the Agent never really gets to know their people properly. It is essential that your Agent knows who you are and anything about you that may be relevant.

Extras Agency policy is to only take on people we feel we can get work for. We do this with the intention of maintaining a long term professional relationship with those people.

Some points to consider:

An Agency should have a current license to operate.
An Agency that has been personally recommended to you by a friend, colleague or someone in the industry is often the best bet.
If you have any doubts about an Agency, check them out! Call a Casting Agent, TV station or the Actors Union and ask them for their opinion.
Ask questions. If an Agent seems overly keen to take you on, think about it first. Don't sign anything and definitely don't part with any money on the first meeting.
An interview should take at least half an hour or longer.
Shop around if you're not sure, you may have missed out on seeing a much better Agency.
