Welcome to Extras Agency - KiDs!

Don't
just sit and watch TV - Be on it! We
have been an industry leader for 25 years and are often asked why we don't
represent people under the age of 16 years. Well timing is everything and we now
are pleased to bring you our brand new KiDs division! Our
new KiDs division is for children and young adults under the age of 16 who would like to
become involved in the world of TV and Film. Here we represent not only extras
but also children who have experience and training and are ready to join a
professional Agency. Using our existing Client Base of leading casting directors
and production companies, we offer a comprehensive service to provide talent of
all ages for any Sydney based project.

or Dad - read this!

Working in the TV & Film industry can be
great fun for kids but they can't do it without help which usually means Mum
or Dad! |
 |
As with our adults, we are selective but we welcome all shapes and sizes to our
KiDs division, after all, that's the way real kids are! |
 |
There are industry regulations in place to make sure that
your child only works the allowed number of hours and that they are looked
after while on set and get paid within the award rates. You may be required
to wait off set which could be time consuming and you would not be
getting paid. |
 |
KiDs can't get themselves to and from jobs
without help from a parent or guardian, so it is essential that you are
prepared and able to commit your time and effort when required. Jobs can
start and finish at any time and are usually in different locations so you
need to be prepared to get up early and get to location anywhere around
Sydney.................... |
 | Under 16's need permission to take time off school when
required to work, check with the school to make sure that this won't
be a problem. You will usually be required to obtain a letter of authority
from the school headmaster or mistress to comply with DOCS regulations. |
 |
Your child will need a tax file number when they start to
earn money, you can apply for one online by clicking here |
 |
Every parent thinks that their child is a star - the reality
is that this is a highly competitive industry and not everyone will be
successful. It is not yours, but your childs' drive and enthusiasm that will
determine their success. We support encouragement rather than pushiness to help
your child realise their full potential. |
OK - what's next?

Photos! |
Here at KiDs we don't think there is
much benefit in spending heaps of money on professional photographs of kids
because they grow and change so fast that the photos become quickly out of date.
So with our KiDs division, we are happy to accept current digital photos as
long as they are within certain specifications (click here
or on KiDs Photos! at
the top of
this page for more info). We also offer a free digital update service if you are unable to
provide suitable shots yourself. This way we can make sure that our KiDs database is always 100% up to date!
For extras work, the main requirements are
patience and professionalism on set - and we expect this from even our youngest KiDs!
Many children however have training and experience in singing, dancing, acting and more,
and we need to know all about this so we can consider them for any suitable
opportunities that may be more than basic extras work, such as commercial
castings. When you apply to us, make sure we know if your child has any great
talents, like perhaps being a super skateboarder or a gymnastic genius!
